21CA-ACO Helpful Airsoft Maintenance Information
The intended purpose for these helpful maintenance tips is to provide airsoft
players with a common knowledge on how to maintain airsoft products.
AEG:
1. Read the users manual before playing. Each Model will have different operating characteristics.
2. After playing, remove the magazine, switch to single shot mode, (semi-auto) point the model in safe direction and pull the trigger once to release tension on the spring and verify that the model is empty.
3. Disconnect the battery and remove from the model for storage.
4. Clean and lubricate your AEG before storage, as needed.
5. Clean the inner barrel and lightly spray some silicone onto the hop up after heavy use.
GAS:
1. Read the users manual before playing. Each Model will have different operating characteristics.
2. After playing, clean any dirt off the mechanisms.
3. Release the remaining gas in the magazine or gas reservoir.
4. Periodically, spray 100% pure silicone in the magazine gas fill valve and discharge valve to keep the seals lubricated.
5. Stock pistols should only use HFC134a gas! Modified pistols with improved internals can take HFC22, also called Top Gas or Green Gas.
6. The proper method for filling a gas reservoir is to do so with the fill can inverted. See user manual for instructions. A 2 to 3 second charge is sufficient, no matter which type of gas is used. Overfilling may damage the magazine and/or the seals and cause leakage.
7. After repeated firing the magazine may be very cold, causing a decrease in discharge pressure, which may result in a firing malfunction. Allow the magazine to warm-up before attempting to fire again.
Troubleshooting:
Pressing trigger with no response?
1. First, check to make sure that the selector switch is set to a “FIRE” position. If it still will not fire, check to make sure that the battery is sufficiently charged. Next, check to make sure that the fuse is not blown. If your AEG was functioning properly before the fuse blew, replace the fuse with one of equal amperage rating. If it was not functioning properly, take or send the AEG to our repair facility. If you cannot diagnose the issue after checking these items, take the AEG to a one of our designated repair facilities.
What should you do when AEG's are jammed with a BB?
1. First, open the portion of the AEG that allows you to remove the inner barrel and hop-up assembly and remove the inner barrel assembly. Second, turn down the hop-up, so that the hop bucking is not protruding into the inner barrel; this may allow the BB to pass freely with no need for further steps. Third, use the unjamming/cleaning tool provided with your AEG to remove the BB, by carefully inserting the tool into the muzzle end of the inner barrel until the BB exits the other end. You may then clean the barrel by attaching a small cleaning cloth on the tool and pulling it back through the barrel. You must make sure that the hop-up is “off” before performing this procedure, otherwise you risk tearing the hop bucking with the unjamming tool, which will render the AEG inoperative. Remember to reset your hop-up once you have the AEG reassembled.
2. Do not use low quality BB’s, especially if you’re AEG is fitted with a tight-bore barrel. Low quality BB’s have excessive flash (extra material from manufacturing) that will cause the BB to jam in the barrel. Jammed barrels can cause damage to your AEG gearbox by not allowing the air nozzle to extend to its correct location during firing.
3. If the AEG still will not feed or fire. There could be a problem inside the unit or maybe in the gearbox. If you are new to Airsoft or not experienced in repairing Airsoft items, please send the item to one of our designated repair facilities.
Proper use of AEG's
1. Excessively long firing in full-auto will cause premature wear inside the gearbox and cause premature motor failure, due to heat build up.
2. Firing in bursts is better for your gearbox; pull the trigger straight back; do not push the trigger sideways as it may damage the gearbox.
3. After playing, remove the magazine, switch to single shot mode (semi-auto), and pull the trigger once to release tension on the spring and verify that the replica is empty.
